Who needs WHMIS 2015 training?

Under Canadian law, any worker who works with, or in proximity to, hazardous products must receive WHMIS training. This includes factory workers, laboratory personnel, janitorial staff, construction crews, and even office workers in facilities where chemicals are stored.

How long is the WHMIS certificate valid?

While WHMIS 2015 certificates do not have a legally mandated expiration date. WHMIS training is often done with employee orientation. Refresher training is highly recommended every 1 to 3 years, or immediately if new hazardous products are introduced to the workplace.

Can I fail the course?

The course includes a final quiz to verify understanding. If a worker does not achieve the passing grade, they can review the material and retake the test at no additional cost.
